THE HALL OF BROKEN MIRRORS

@ Design Museum Holon, Israel from 28/05 to 26/10 2019

Gufram takes part in the exhibit The Conversation Show with the project The Hall of Broken Mirrors an immersive installation proposed by Snarkitecture and realized by Gufram.

The exhibit, curated by Maria Cristina Didero, will go on until 26 October and will have five site specific installations which explore the creative process and the collaboration experience of the designers working in a group. The internationally famous design studios BCXSY, mischer'traxler, Reddish, Snarkitecture and Zaven have analyzed and interpreted their relationship, as well as the different stages of their shared design project; they have thus created objects, spaces, as well as interactive works, which physically and intellectually express their creative dialogue.

With The Hall of Broken Mirrors, the New York Snarkitecture studio re-elaborates one of its iconic pieces, which it had created in 2017 for Gufram: Broken Mirror, a mirror that enriches its function by transforming it and becomes an object of art.

At the Design Museum Holon, in the Dr. Shulamit Katzman gallery, Snarkitecture and Gufram have created a unique installation, composed by a series of mirrors and passages which divide the gallery into three spaces white, grey and black. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the “mirrors” in order to create the illusion of being reflected into parallel worlds and scenarios.
